Description
As part of my job as a tech with NEON, I'm teaching myself how to identify the 50+ species of Carabid beetles from the Central Plains Experimental Range, where we collect. A lot of the differentiating features can be very hard to describe in words, so I've been doing a lot of drawings to go with my giant excel sheet of characters. These particular drawings demonstrate some of the differences in the depressions, textures, and shapes of the pronota of the beetles. I still can't believe I get paid to do this. *Loves her job*
